According to a survey made by Department of Commerce of United States, Mexico is in the top 10 markets in the world for the production of cosmetics and personal care products and continues to be the second target market for beauty products in Latin America.
In recent years the experts estimate a growth in this sector around 8% and even if the forecasts for the future are more cautions, the reasons of this development appear to be numerous. Among the causes most significant there are certainly the strengthening of the domestic economy, the emergence internationally of some national brands and the consumption growth.
The Mexicans, men and women, prove to be ever more attentive to the quality of products purchased and thanks to free trade agreements that the country has with other 46 nations in the world, the local consumers are always most exposed not only to American brands but also to European, Sud-American and recently Asian brands. According to National Chamber of the cosmetic industry (CANIPEC), Mexican consumer spends on average about 90 dollars a year in cosmetic products and in personal care.
